The Real Food Project

294 The Real Food Project is brought to you by Hellmanns Mayonnaise. I LOVE Hellmanns. I use it in salads, sandwiches and dips. Sooo delicious. However, I am always looking for getting new recipes on the dinner table.

Celebrity Chef, Bobby Flay, has made some how-to tutorials using Hellmanns Mayo and real foods for healthy and smart recipes. I was just looking around on the site and the one thing I love the best is that you can spin the wheel of prizes. After you register, you have 3 chances a day to win some cool Hellmanns prizes!! Besides the tutorials, they also have a recipe search. Very helpful!

I really am encouraging you to check out www.Hellmanns.com and visit the Real Food Project!

Get cooking!!

I was entered for a chance to win a Hellmann's® prize package in exchange for this post.  No monetary exchange took place."

Family Fun Idea

291 I am not sure about you, but I am always looking for a way to get my family to sit together and spend some time together. Even with a 6 and 4 year old, they always want to be off doing their own things. One thing we can manage to do is to watch movies and have popcorn or ice cream sundaes together.

Blockbuster has made it really easy for all busy moms and dads to rent movies. Blockbuster Express is a neat little way to rent DVD’s without a membership. They are very conveniently located in grocery stores and drug stores.

293  When you rent a movie at the regular price using the code in the banner above, you'll receive the first night's rental on the second movie FREE. This offer expires on 3/31 so make sure to take advantage of it soon! Once again, the coupon code is 555G13B. Try it out today! My family loves it!!!

Verizon’s First game of the season

100_3147

For 2 weeks in a row we kept getting rained out. So last Friday, we finally had a beautiful evening for the Mini-T’s to play. We will play the same team all year since they did not have enough 4 year olds to make more than 2 teams.

It was a lot of fun to watch my little man learn the sport that his daddy loves. I am the assistant team mom so I got to watch up close in the dugout.

The first inning was a little frustrating cause Matthew did not want to stay out on the field. It was so cute to watch all the kids run at once and dive on the ball. They did not get the concept of staying at your positions. Matthew got a little discouraged from time to time because he wanted to get the ball so badly!100_3153100_3156He loved hitting the best. He was so adorable and he did pretty well. The second time up to bat he wailed on it and it rolled past the pitcher’s mound. I really believe with time he will get a lot of power in his swing. This is something that I really look forward to every week. He just looks so cute and grown up out there!100_3158100_3159Tomorrow we play again! I can not wait to see my lil slugger in action again!!

Cooking with my little man

I decided to bake some brownies on a very quiet Monday. He loves to help in the kitchen and we had some fun. He is really good when we are doing stuff together. He really wanted to make a good snack for his sister when she came home from school. Matthew and I make a great team!

Glasses, Earrings, OH MY!

Matt and I knew it would only be a matter of time before one, if not both, of our children would need eye glasses. The time came a lot sooner than we expected. Julianna informed me she was having a hard time seeing the board and computer screens at school. So off we went to our local eye doctor and store. She did real well with the whole eye exam and dilation. She picked out the cutest pair of eyewear and daddy and I agreed. While we waited for them to be fit with her lenses, we took the kids out for dinner and we had another surprise for her. We took her to get her ears pierced. She did GREAT! Yes, she did cry but that was to be expected. My little girl is growing up very quickly and she is such a beautiful young girl!

What a weekend…

Well, I would describe it in one word. Crazy. It was supposed to be a super fun weekend with my family but it was one issue after another. First, my little man had severe bronchitis and mild pneumonia. After chest x-rays, blood work and 4 shots of antibiotics into his thighs, I think we are now turning a corner. He can breathe without issues and is a lot more active.

Saturday was our Little League Baseball opening day. My son is in mini T-Ball since he is only 4 1/2. He likes it tho, and does pretty well with it. We got to the complex around 9:45 am and got his cute little uniform. He plays for Team Verizon and his shirt and socks and hat are red. He did well until it was time to line up for his team picture and his individual picture. That was a no go in his eyes. He was having no part in it. I understand he was still ill but he loves the camera. I was so disappointed that we could not get his pictures. So home we went because we did not want him playing until he was 100% better.

Today was good but busy. My wonderful hubby let me sleep in until 930 this morning. However, I did wake up with a sore throat and a temperature of 102. Nevertheless, the day must go on. So I got Julianna dressed and off to our Girl Scout cookie booth. After we helped Monica set up, I ran her down to get her hair chopped. I was so tired of a fight every morning when I tried to brush her hair. Our cookie booth was very successful. We sold 196 boxes in 4 1/2 hours. Troop 55 rocks!

So after this weekend, I am hoping for an uneventful and restful week. I hope your week is grand!

Laughter...the best medicine

Yesterday was quite the adventure. I have never laughed as much as I did yesterday. It all began on a beautiful Monday morning…..

…..My very very great friend and I had to take a trip to a nearby city to get more cookies from the Girl Scout cookie warehouse. Getting there was quite easy (thanks in part to the good ole GPS) but getting back was another story! We began our journey home the same way we came but somewhere we took a wrong turn. One wrong turn took us over an hour out of our way going around in circles in this crazy city. Most people would have been upset or angry or frustrated. But not Thelma and Louise. We laughed so hard we cried and we were both texting the same thing and having the best time. Both of our lives have been crazy busy and stressful lately. This adventure definately sent me a message that we all just need to sit back and laugh with the ones we love.

Thank you to my very bestest friend. You make my day a lot better everyday, especially yesterday. Laughter and friendship truly is the best medicine!
